When to Use Personal Pronouns

We use subject personal pronouns to refer to people. These are the personal pronouns to use: I, You, He, She, It, We, They
 

    I talk a lot.

    You swim good.

    He likes the birds.

    She struggles with work.

    It taste good.

    We love fruits.

    They sleep a lot. 

 

The Personal Pronouns 

 

    I - Singular 1st Person 

    ( masculine or feminine )


    You - Singular 2nd Person 

    ( masculine or feminine )

 

    He - Singular 3rd Person 

    ( masculine )

 

    She - Singular 3rd Person 

    ( feminine )

 

    It - Singular 3rd Person 

    ( object / thing / animal )

 

    We - Plural 1st Person 

    ( masculine or feminine )

 

    They - Plural 3rd Person 

    ( masculine or feminine )

 

When it's the subject of the sentence, the pronoun always starts at the beginning of the sentence.

 

    They got home late. 

    She likes to wear makeup.

 

"It" is used to express objects, things, or ideas.

 

    It is going to be hot today.

    The toy is weak. It breaks easily. 

    It was a great idea.
